Blade balancing
From RC Helicopter Wiki
The main rotor of a helicopter forms a large rotating mass, and must be carefully balanced about the hub in order to avoid unnecessary vibration.
Blades should be balanced in two ways:
- Static balance
- The blades should have identical mass.
- Dynamic balance
- The centre of gravity of the blades should be at the same distance from the hub.
A blade balancer helps with this task.
