Blade icing

From RC Helicopter Wiki

Blade icing can occur when the air temperature is near or below freezing, and the air is moist (for example, in mist or high humidity).

The reduction in air pressure around the spinning main blades can cause ice to solidify out of the air and onto the blade, spoiling the airfoil shape and unbalancing the blades. This causes an increase in vibration and a loss of lift.
