Center of gravity

The center of gravity of an object is a point where the object's weight can be considered to act. When suspended, the center of gravity will hang directly below the suspension point; when balanced on a point, the centre of gravity will be directly above the balance point. It is the point where all moments of inertia around that point sum to zero.

For a helicopter, the center of gravity should be directly below the main shaft to ensure that it flies correctly with minimal trim, both right way up and inverted.
