From RC Helicopter Wiki
A battery charger is an electronic device for storing electrical energy in a battery. Battery chargers typically run off either mains voltage (120-250V AC), or on 12-15V DC, the voltage typically delivered by a Lead Acid battery such as a car battery, and so convenient for use at the flying field.
Different types of battery chemistry require different charging regimes; depending on the battery charger, it may be able to charge only one type, or many types of different chemistries.
