A datalogger records a number of variables related to the running of the helicopter, and allows them to be viewed as graphs later on a computer. Using a datalogger lets you tune a helicopter to run better in flight.
Typical values measured include:
- Main rotor and/ or motor RPM;
- Motor or battery temperature;
- Motor power usage on electric helicopters;
- Servo power usage;
Closely related to dataloggers are a number of analysers, which measure but do not record, making them useful for bench use.
