An electric motor is a device for generating motive power from an electric current.

Electric motors are found in servos and provide the force to run electric helicopters. They can have their speed controlled via an electronic speed controller.

Motors come in two main types.

  • Brushed motors use carbon brushes to deliver power to the windings with appropriate timing.
  • Brushless motors use electronics to deliver power to the windings with appropriate timing.
