An electronic system that allows the remote control pilot to view 'First Person Video' from an airborne aircraft, and fly it similarly to a full size aircraft.

A FPV system consists at a minimum of a video camera, a radio downlink from the aircraft to the ground, and a display to show the video. More complicated systems have head-mounted displays with head motion tracking to allow the pilot to have a more immersive experience.

FPV flying is slowly becoming accepted by a number of regional model flying bodies. A typical requirement is that the FPV pilot should be treated as the 'secondary pilot' in a buddy system, and that the 'pilot in command' should main direct visual contact with the model at all times.

FPV systems, or variations of, are also used in aerial photography to facilitate picture framing and camera control.
