Flight electronics

Flight electronics are the electronics on the helicopter concerned with control of the helicopter, including the receiver, servos, and gyro, and anything else that typically runs off the 5V supply, but excluding the ESC and electric motor in an electric helicopter. The distinction is useful as even if the electric motor battery were to fail, as long as power is maintained to the flight electronics, a successful autorotation is possible. For this reason, large electric helicopters often run the flight electronics off a separate battery from the main motor.
