Tail shaft

From RC Helicopter Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The shaft around which the tail rotor rotates, transferring torque from the tail belt or torque tube to the tail rotor hub and spinning the tail blades. The tail shaft can be bent in crashes; because the tail rotor spins so fast (usually 3 - 4 times faster than the main rotor) even very small bends can cause huge amounts of vibration.
